Nau Nau
After a DJ sabbatical of over 10 years, Dan Sanders returns behind the decks as A&R/Co-owner of District Records under his latest incarnation, Nau Nau.
How a spark once ignited in the Dutch countryside transformed into a lifelong musical journey.
At just sixteen, Maarten Bousie — known to many as Dan Sanders — discovered the magic of two Technics SL-1200 MKII turntables. That moment marked the beginning of an extraordinary odyssey through the ever-evolving landscape of electronic music.
Born in Leiden, the Netherlands, Bousie’s journey began in earnest when he joined the promotion department of Combined Forces Records (CFR) in The Hague. Immersed in the vibrant Dutch electronic scene, he quickly learned the ropes of the international music business — moving from promotions to international licensing and the A&R team.
District Records
The home of Progno, a refined blend of tech house, progressive and techno.
After years of non-stop movement and intensity, Maarten decided to step away from the DJ booth and the front line of the industry. For over a decade, he instead focused on artist management, guiding the careers of both emerging and established talent, until the familiar call of the decks became too strong to ignore.
Having relocated to Spain, he then rediscovered his deep-rooted passion for electronic music. Reborn as Nau Nau, now channeling decades of experience into a renewed creative vision, blending classic vinyl heritage with modern production and performance technology. His invite-only Club Nau events celebrate the true underground spirit, while two new concepts are set to launch in 2025. His motto says it best: “Without music, life would be a mistake.”
Alongside this return to performing, Bousie has also reignited his A&R passion as Co-owner of the new imprint District Records, together with long-time friend and industry veteran Peter van Hal, known for influential labels like Deep Records, Focus, DK Records, and Melodic Lab.
Under their joint direction, District Records has quickly gained traction, releasing music from Guy J, Patch Park, Kasey Taylor, Jamie Stevens, Syncom Data, Cortona, and Mike Rish, with strong support from Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Kasey Taylor, Jamie Stevens, David Calo, Quivver, and others. The label’s remix of Patch Park’s “Don’t Stop” by Guy J even hit #1 on Beatport.
With an exciting release schedule featuring Patch Park, Mike Rish, Kebin van Reeken, Zuccasam, Jamie Stevens, Kasey Taylor, Analog Kitchen, and Jochem Hamerling, District is cementing its reputation as a home for high-quality, forward-thinking progressive and tech house.
Together, Nau Nau and District Records represent both legacy and renewal, a celebration of where it all began and where it’s heading next.
